CSV Viewer

Open a local CSV file or paste CSV text and read it as a clean, scrollable table. Quoted commas, quoted line breaks and empty fields are parsed correctly; search any cell; download the original file unchanged — all locally in your browser.

What this CSV viewer does

CSV files open as raw comma soup in a text editor, and spreadsheet apps reformat, truncate or “helpfully” convert what you load. This viewer parses CSV properly — including the quoting rules that break naive splitters — and shows a table with a sticky header, a row counter and cell search. Your data never leaves the browser, and the original file is always one click away, byte for byte.

How to use it

  1. Open or paste CSV

Click Open CSV file for a local file (up to 10 MB), or paste CSV text and press View pasted CSV.
  2. Search your data

Read the table; use Find to filter rows containing your text.
  3. Set the header row

If the first row is data rather than headers, uncheck First row is a header.
  4. Download the original

Copy the original text or download the original file whenever you need it.

Input and output

Input: UTF-8 CSV files up to 10 MB or pasted text up to 2,000,000 characters. Output: an interactive table (rendered in blocks of 200 rows for responsiveness), plus the untouched original for copying or downloading.

Limitations

Frequently asked questions

What does this CSV viewer support?

Standard CSV quoting: fields wrapped in quotes that contain commas, line breaks inside quoted fields, escaped double quotes (""), and empty fields. Rows with fewer columns than the widest row are padded and displayed — never silently dropped.

Which file encodings are supported?

UTF-8, with or without a byte-order mark. Files that start with a UTF-16 BOM or contain binary data are rejected with a clear message asking you to re-save the file as UTF-8.

My CSV has no header row. Can I still view it?

Yes. Uncheck "First row is a header" and the viewer labels the columns Column 1, Column 2, … while showing every row as data. No rows are lost either way.

How do I search my data?

Type in the "Find" box and the table filters to rows where any cell contains your text, case-insensitively, with a live match count.

Does downloading change my file?

No. When you open a file, the download returns the exact original bytes. When you paste text, you get the exact pasted text back. The viewer never re-serializes your data.

How large a CSV can it handle?

Files up to 10 MB and pasted text up to 2,000,000 characters. Large files are parsed and displayed in blocks of 200 rows using the Show more button, so the page stays responsive.
